NBA 2K1(Dreamcast)

Quite simply, the best basketball game of all time.  Nothing else even comes close.  From the picture perfect graphics, to the ultra-realistic sounds, and to the totally believable gameplay, there has never been anything like this game.  It simply feels like basketball.  When you select a play, the play is run exactly how a real basketball team would execute that play.  The players don't have that "float" effect that a lot of basketball games have, and there's a real sense that you can control anything you want. If you want to pound the ball inside to your big man down low, then bust the rock out to the arc for a tre, you can do that, and do it effortlessly.  If you want to freeze your man with a crossover, then take it hard to the hole, you can do that.  If you want to run the fast break up the floor, the ball never touching the floor on the way to the hoop, you can do that (your players will automatically run the fast break lanes and get open for you)  Even the shooting is spot on.  If you're using a great shooter, you can release the shoot button a little early, or a little late, and you'll still knock down the shot more often than not.  If you're using a brick layer like Luc Longley, you'd better release the button at the very top of the jump, or that shot ain't going in.  The only caveats are this:  the computer offense scores way too often, and the computer defense is porous as a sponge once you get the hang of the game.  Other than that, there are no other flaws with this game;  A true classic.
